I saw this film at home this week. I could only imagine it at the theater with the inside sets of the Vatican. A piece of architectural visual feast. So grand. Bigger than life!!!
The thing that intrigued me the most is with all that wealth, beauty, and of course intrigue...
Do you not as I do wonder what Tudor gems of history they have in their vaults?!!! So much European Historical items are in the possession of this Religious Temple. Ohhhh to run loose and explore there!
I recently learned that some of Henry VIII's love letters to Anne Boleyn are in the Vatican Library. I was on a Zoom call with a historian who had be able to see them (under supervision and wearing gloves).
Sean Baker, the Director of Anora, would definitely applaud your encouragement of people going to movie theaters. Part of his speech at the recent Oscar Awards: “We’re all here tonight and watching this broadcast because we love movies. Where did we fall in love with the movies? At the movie theater watching a film,” he said. “Watching a film in a theater with an audience is an experience. We can laugh together, cry together, scream and fight together, perhaps sit in devastated silence together. And in a time in which the world can feel very divided, this is more important than ever.”
“It’s a communal experience you simply don’t get at home. And right now, the theater-going experience is under threat,” Baker continued. “Movie theaters, especially independently-owned theaters, are struggling, and it’s up to us to support them. During the pandemic, we lost nearly 1,000 screens in the US. And we continue to lose them regularly. If we don’t reverse this trend, we’ll be losing a vital part of our culture.”
“This is my battle cry,” Baker said. “Filmmakers, keep making films for the big screen. I know I will.”

I loved the movie and haven't yet read the novel, but you make a good argument for why I should.
I loved the movie, but this makes me want to read the book!

Engrossing comparison of book and film! I have not read the book, but now I want to!
wonderful, just wonderful. Now I want to see the film again
I loved the movie. Now I’m compelled to read the book!
Both the film and the novel are so intriguing. I found so much to write about write about in both of them.
