Well, I loved Sansom's novels before I knew he had a cat, but you've got my number. I specifically chose this photo because of the cat. Such a handsome little creature!
I can't wait to read your novel! Such an interesting premise to contemplate. You have me eager to know more about this musician and his relationship to Anne Boleyn. I'm always inspired to write by questions I can't find the answers to easily.
Oh to be in a pub with you and discussing all you posted. I am rabid for anything Tudors Era. I too am working on a novel, of course on the Tudors. I recently discovered the Shardlake Series and love reading them. I am in Lamentations Book now. I will be purchasing your book!!!
Loving your posts! Wishing you great success with this book.
Thanks so much. Sounds like a great pub conversation to me. Whenever you're ready, let me know more about your book. I'm with you --entranced by anything about the Tudors.
I've not read two of the books you cite. I'll have to remedy that.
And yes, as an author, I can only say sometimes a person turns up on a page or a screen and bang. You have to know more. Isabelle d'Angouleme, King John's 2nd wife, grabbed me by the throat and heart, like Mark seems to have grabbed you. Loving the underdogs.
I think you were also drawn to Sansom because of his cat!

How wonderful ul to meet you in person, and see the actual book in your hands!
It was a pleasure for me too. I'm glad we had a chance to chat.

Yes, I admit it --- and Behold the Bird in Flight is my next read. I'm eager to learn about Isabelle.
Great post Martha. I love reading authors' inspirations.
Good luck on pub day! It sounds like a fascinating tale!
As always, great food for thought and beautifully written.
